Ciare Loudspeakers

South Africa is getting Ciare loudspeakers with three models entering the system, Italian made quality & precision Ciara offers excellent value.

This is excellent news for local builders and the Diy community, big name brands are generally very expensive while worth the quality and money spent it makes it very hard to sometimes justify to an average person getting into diy to spend the little bit extra to get the performance that he or she is looking for. 

Who is Ciare?

Ciare PWA10.50

10" 250 watts Aes power handling with a good frequency range between 50Hz to 2000Hz, the sensitivity is 95dB which is perfect for Pa & Sound reinforcement. 

All 3 models offer good cone displacement the PWA10.50 has a rated cone displacement 5.8mm which helps with the bass extensions, overall at a glance the PWA10.50 provides excellent balance and is yards ahead of the cheaper drivers on the South African market for a fraction more.

Ciare PWA12.64

Tough and competitive market on the 12" sized speakers with a handful of "cheap" imports that perform surprisingly good, though many of these products don't have the quality control or the support to create user trust. Sadly unless I test a drivers parameters users never know what they are actually buying, which means the average person without any testing equipment makes these cheap speakers useless sad to say, a warm and hearty welcome the Ciare PWA12.64 has accurate data and is priced super competitive!  With 300 watts Aes power handling "600 program" it is more then enough power for Pa and Sound reinforcement, what is really appealing while it is a little low on Xmax the driver is better optimized with a frequency response from 50hz out to 3000hz where as some of the cheaper drivers even branded at this price point don't have the higher frequency extensions or are as linear! With a great sensitivity rated out to 97dB this driver is louder on average when compared to other drivers in its price point and honestly might just be the best go to 12" for general applications where price conscious diy users want Quality or folks looking to upgrade existing enclosures hunting for a premium branded replacement driver.

CIARE PWA15.75

Hello beautiful, just what we need ;) 

15" speakers are great as they often provide more low frequency response due to the larger cone area and the higher cone displacement, however the drawback is a loss in high frequency response which makes building a 2 way loudspeaker instantly more expensive as the compression driver; horn and crossover parts become larger and more expensive quickly!

However

The Ciare PWA15.75 has an excellent wide bandwidth between 40Hz and 3000Hz with a high cone displacement of 8mm, making this driver truly a gem being able to be used as a small subwoofer or as a powerful dual 15" 2 or 3 way "tall boy" as it is called in South Africa. Nothing on the market offers this much value with drivers similar in performance are 2 to 3 times in price, 500 watts Aes power handling and 1000 watts program on tap makes for a ton of performance and I hope to see every retail store sell and promote the Ciare PWA15.75 as it makes so much sense, I cant wait to smash together projects with this unit and for South Africa this product is going Rock!
